ANNOUNCEMENT
The International Society for Contemporary Biwa Music (the ISCBM), observing biwa's long history and extensive influence in the world, was established on May 12, 2002 by individuals in various fields who wished to support and develop creative activities for biwa music.
The ISCBM is financed by the estate of late Kinshi,Tsuruta, the "Tsuruta Kinshi Memorial Biwa Music Promotion Foundation," as well as membership fees and revenues from activities.
We welcome anyone interested in joining the ISCBM wishing to support or participate in any of the following activities.

ACTIVITIES
1. Hosting regular concerts.
2. Hosting lectures and demonstrations.
3. Commissioning new pieces and running a competition for new pieces.
4. Promoting and aiding international communications.
5. Publishing newsletters.
6. Fostering members' communications.
7. Practicing activities necessary for all the above.
